Divorce law is religion-specific though there is also a separate law for couples from different religions. Cruelty itself is a ground for dissolution in most of divorce laws. It is necessary in the first instance to ascertain the applicable law to the couple. Then it needs to be seen on what grounds, the cruelty is asserted. Normal wear and tear of married life is not cruelty. Cruelty arises when it is practically difficult to live together as husband-wife. Each case has to be examined on its own facts and circumstances. DISCLAIMER: These are only general observations. It is not a specific legal advice to any specific clients whose facts and documents have been seen on one-to-one basis. The above comments are not of universal application.

There is no legal requirement that will must be registered. Registration adds some credibility to the will in the sense that testator appears before the registering authority. Besides, a certified copy of the will can be obtained if the original document is not traceable. But registration is no guarantee that the will is valid. There are instances when even registered wills could not be enforced. Each case has to be evaluated on the basis of its fact.
